The shipping mode follows the product and the port. Large asphalt plants take hot bitumen in bulk tankers; ports without hot-handling infrastructure favour bitutainers, new steel drums or jumbo bags. Grade matters too — penetration grade bitumen and viscosity grade bitumen commonly move in bulk, while oxidized bitumen and cutback bitumen often ship drummed.
Incoterms decide who arranges freight and insurance and where risk transfers. Under FOB you control main-carriage freight; under CIF Bitumax delivers a single price to your port.
